If you’re ready for an editor who sees what’s between the lines—and helps you see it, too…
The House is Open.

Character Advocate | Author Champion | Story Partner
Couture edits. Bespoke guidance. Editing from every point of view.
Restoring the Author–Editor Partnership
At House of Braus, I believe editing should be a conversation, not a transaction — the kind of trusted creative relationship once shared between authors and their editors. Editing today too often looks like an assembly line. I’m bringing back the model where editor and author grow together — collaborative, nuanced, and deeply human.
That’s the House of Braus way.
The Invitation
The House of Braus is a creative studio and sanctuary for authors. Every writer who enters is met with empathy, craft, and respect. My process is informed by trauma-sensitive practice, cultural responsiveness, and neuro-inclusive design so every author can work with confidence and comfort.
You bring your authentic self; I bring expertise and care.
Together we build stories that endure.
The Experience
Editing with House of Braus isn’t a transaction — it’s a conversation.
Every project begins with a one-hour consultation where we simply talk story. We look at where you are in your process, what you hope to build, and what kind of partnership will serve you best. From there, we design a 1-on-1 plan that fits your goals. You’ll always know what to expect — from the craft theories behind my notes to the emotional support that makes revision sustainable. I include a detailed craft guide (5–10 pages) with every editorial letter so we’re speaking the same language before you dive back into your manuscript.
I work in layers: story structure, character psychology, and the practical path forward. My brain runs in multiple tracks, but my focus never shifts — it’s always the story, and always you.

Kind Words from Authors
"Mallory Braus is a strong, dedicated editor with the complete toolset to get the job done. She's tough when she needs to be tough, encouraging when difficult scenes become a challenge, thorough, and has a unique talent for story arc and flow. She helped keep me on track and was there for me every step of the way. "
-Karina Cooper, author of the award-winning St. Croix Chronicles
“Mallory doesn't just edit a manuscript. She crawls inside its skin and into its heart and lives there, feeling what it needs, what it's trying to say. She learns your book so intimately that her observations and recommendation are startling at times—how does she know so much more about your character than what's on the page? She's a magician who rides the flow of your words, smoothing them when they're choppy or awkward or repetitive. …She's simply the best.”
-Ana Barrons
“I had the pleasure of working closely with Mallory Braus during my tenure as a senior editor at Amazon Publishing. As a developmental editor, Mallory consistently demonstrated her exceptional skills and dedication. She has an outstanding talent for narrative structure and a keen eye for what works in commercial fiction. Her ability to nurture authors and their novels is remarkable. Mallory's insights and meticulous attention to detail ensured that every project she touched was elevated to its highest potential…”
— JoVon Sotok, Senior Editor at Montlake Press
